  • Built a real-time facial recognition attendance system from scratch using CNN, TensorFlow, Keras, and OpenCV — capturing live video, auto-identifying individuals, and logging attendance to MySQL, eliminating manual entry entirely.
  • Developed object detection pipelines on custom-labelled datasets using transfer learning with pre-trained CNN architectures and data augmentation strategies to improve generalisation and reduce overfitting.
  • Owned the complete model lifecycle independently: raw data preprocessing, feature engineering, architecture selection, training, hyperparameter tuning, and evaluation (precision, recall, F1-score).
  • Integrated trained deep learning models into desktop applications for live operational workflows as part of a cross-functional team, bridging research and real-world deployment.
  • The facial recognition system was adopted for actual operational use within the internship period.
